01 / Overview

A city's experiences, bookable from one app

CityUnlocked lets groups plan and book experiences in Bratislava (nightlife, activities and complete packages) through one product instead of a dozen tabs and chats. It was built at BeCode for Creative Access, and it is public: a customer website, an iOS and Android app, and the operational system behind them.

I designed and built the mobile application end to end, from the visual language to the released store builds. The API and the administration behind the catalogue were built together with the BeCode team.

02 / Challenge

Group plans fall apart in group chats

Planning a group trip usually means a chaotic group chat, a spreadsheet of flight times and twenty aging reviews, with nobody sure whether a place is worth it. The product had to collapse that mess into a catalogue a group can actually decide from.

It also had to serve two very different sides with one system: customers discovering and booking through the app and the web, and the operations team managing the catalogue, availability and incoming bookings behind the scenes.

Guided booking flow asking what the group would like to experience. A guided flow replaces the agency back-and-forth: the group describes what it wants

03 / Approach

One catalogue behind the app, the web and the admin

Every surface reads from the same platform: the mobile app, the booking website and the administration share one API and one catalogue, so an experience is described once and stays consistent everywhere. The app carries the full journey: onboarding with verified sign-in, a map of the city, curated packages and events, availability checks, reservations, a wishlist, custom requests for groups that want something specific, push notifications and a premium membership handled through in-app purchase. The web complements it with a guided booking flow and an editorial layer of city guides, while the administration manages the catalogue, itineraries and bookings. Every visual here comes from the public product and its official store listing; partners, venues and prices stay out of this case study.

04 / Results

A public product, shipped end to end

CityUnlocked is live: the app is published in both stores under the client's brand, the website takes bookings, and the same platform serves customers and the operations team. By the client's wishes, this case study shows the product rather than its numbers.

  1. iOS + Android

    In both public app stores

The mobile app I designed and built is published in the App Store and Google Play under the client's brand.

  2. 01

    Platform behind every surface

The app, the website and the administration share one API and one catalogue instead of three separate systems.

  3. Since 2026

    Live and taking bookings

The product launched publicly in 2026 and operates as a real booking platform, not a portfolio prototype.
