01 / Overview

Configurators for products made to order

treede turns a manufacturer's price list into a 3D configurator. The buyer designs a pergola, fence, sauna or garage door, sees an indicative price and sends an enquiry that already holds the dimensions, options and a PDF.

treede is my own product. This case study covers its website, treede.eu: I shaped the positioning and the copy, then designed and built the site in Slovak, Czech, English and Finnish. The configurator engine and the CRM behind it are separate work.

02 / Challenge

Earn the demo in four languages

Manufacturers and installers buy treede after a demo and a signed contract. There is no checkout, so the site has one job: get a sales team to book that demo. Those teams cannot judge a 3D configurator from a paragraph about one.

The site also had to work in Slovak, Czech, English and Finnish, around a catalogue of 304 product types at very different stages. A visitor has to see which ones exist today and which are plans.

03 / Approach

Show the product before the pitch

I put a working demo under the headline: five products you can configure, an indicative price that the real pricing engine recalculates on every click, and a button that carries your choices into the full configurator. The problem follows in a sales team's words, as an inbox of enquiries without dimensions. Four animated scenes cover what the buyer does before sending an enquiry, and a dark band spells out who treede does not fit. The catalogue marks each type as a live demo, an existing 3D base, in development or planned. All four languages run on one codebase with translated URLs, hreflang and structured data. The Finnish homepage opens on the sauna.

Live in four languages from one codebase

treede.eu is live in Slovak, Czech, English and Finnish, with a working demo on the homepage and a sitemap for each language.

    Slovak, Czech, English and Finnish share components, translated URLs and hreflang links. Finnish visitors see the sauna first.

    Four sitemaps, one per language, include a page for each of the 68 integrations and 18 configurator types.

    Each type shows its status, from live demo to planned. Visitors can try 17 of them in a live demo.
